The Mill Creek Garden Club believes in giving back to our community through “Giving Through Gardening“ by way of grants to worthy recipients. Our biggest fundraiser is our Garden Tour with the proceeds going back to the community. We have awarded grants to Farmer Frog, the Hope Creek Charitable Foundation’s Hope Creek Community Care Garden, Henry M. Jackson High School’s Project Green Club and North Creek High School’s new Gardening Club.
Farmer Frog is a non-profit that works with schools to grow gardens that feed students and the community while teaching kids the science of gardening. Their goal is to end child hunger and build safe communities by empowering people to grow their own food. They foster community-based, socially just, urban and small-scale agriculture that protects and restores habitat and quality of life for people and wildlife.
Hope Creek Charitable Foundation believes in serving our community with grace and compassion, building relationships along the way through a wide variety of programs. One of those programs is their Care Garden which donates fresh produce to the Mill Creek Food Bank.
We also assist the City of Mill Creek by planting and maintaining the Flag Pole raised bed at the Veterans Monument.
